This konjac sponge is perfectly suitable for gentle care, peeling and massage of skin.
It moisturizes and through its alkaline property can help to fight acne. Additionally, this sponge is suitable for washing infants and small children due to its naturalness and its soft and gentle surface.
For usage, wet the sponge and move it in circles over face and body.
In Japan, this sponge has been used for facial cleansing on a daily basis for more than 1500 years, while in Korea, it is reserved for baby care.
This Konjac sponge is 100% plant-based and made from the Konjac plant. For its production, its root is ground to flour. This flour is mixed with water and baked in the oven until it becomes a sponge.
Of course, all Hydrophil products are water-neutral, vegan and fair!
When dry the sponges are hard, but after soaking under water for a couple of minutes they become super soft and spongy. After using my sponge, I hang it in my bathroom to dry out. This helps it to last longer.
Since these sponges are 100% plant based, at the end of their life, konjac sponges are compostable!

This sponge is quite hard when dry but as it absorbs water is becomes the softest little thing. It’s very gentle and works well to work a lather on your face. I’m sure you could use it everywhere though. It has a little string going through it so you can hang it up and that seems to be pretty sturdy. I haven’t noticed any odors or deterioration after using for a while. My son even gets it down and plays with it during his showers and I’m not sure what he does with it but it’s held together and maintained it’s composure.
